Score

url(...) --- An Element That Is a Link

url() makes any element of the score a link. Tap or click it and the browser goes there. Its everyday use is a row of "who are you?" buttons, so that a whole group joins the right part without opening a menu:

url(role:viola) join this project as viola url(part:"Part: Viola") this project, that part url(role:conductor, part:all) a name, and the whole score url(project:quartet, role:"violin 1") another project url(href:"https://oscilla.cc/docs/", target:new) anywhere, in a new tab

Parameters

Parameter Meaning
role the name this device takes (?role=); the part follows the name — see Parts & Layers
part the part to show, by layer label or id, whatever the name; all is the whole score
project the project to open; left out, this one
href any address instead — used as it is, and wins over the three above
target new opens it in a new tab; left out, this one

Quote a value with spaces or a colon in it: role:"violin 1", part:"Part: Viola".

How it behaves

A link drawn in Inkscape (Object → Link) does the same and also works; url() is the one you can edit inside Oscilla.

Use target:new for anything outside the score — documentation, a web page — so the score stays open behind it. Every demo's documentation link is one, pointing at the docs this Oscilla server carries itself, which work without an internet connection and match the version installed:

url(href:"/oscilla/docs/animation/cue_fade/", target:new)

An address starting with / is on the Oscilla server, whichever device follows it — a phone that joined over the network included.

Try it

demo-parts opens with five url() buttons — violin 1, violin 2, viola, cello, and the conductor with all parts.
